Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel is back in the winning mode as the Formula One racing drivers head for Barcelona and the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday 22 May 2011. Vettel’s winning streak was briefly ended when McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton won the Chinese Grand Prix, but the German’s dominance returned with an impressive victory in the Turkish Grand Prix. And his team mate Mark Webber made it a Red Bull one-two as he steered his car to second place.
McLaren, which had been hoping that China signalled the start of a resurgence, could not even get on the podium as Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso took third place. Hamilton had to settle for fourth and his team mate Jenson Button was down in sixth, split by the Mercedes of Nico Rosberg.
Turkey also saw another good race from the Lotus Renault team with Nick Heidfeld and Vitaly Petrov coming in seventh and eight, respectively.
All of which leaves Vettel with a commanding thirty-four point lead in the drivers championship and Red Bull a forty-three point lead in the constructors championship.
